Hon’ble Ms. Nurun Nahar is the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank (The Central Bank of Bangladesh) since 02 July 2023. Prior to this appointment, she was the seniormost Executive
Director (Grade-1) of Bangladesh Bank. She is the second woman Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank since its establishment.

Ms. Nahar joined Bangladesh Bank as an Assistant Director in 1989 and served the Central Bank for almost 35 years. In her Central Banking career, she worked in different positions in
various departments and offices of Bangladesh Bank.

Ms. Nahar earned her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from University of Dhaka in 1984 and later completed the Master of Business Administration (MBA). She is also a Diplomaed Associate of
Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB) from Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. In her professional career she visited Sweden, United Kingdom, Austria, Slovakia, South Korea,
Turkey, India, Malaysia to join the official meetings, seminars, trainings, and workshops.
