Philavanh graduated bachelor in business administration from Europe-Asia Business College. An international MBA from NAPPA. Graduated his professional diploma from the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). A diploma in strategic management & leadership (UK). Currently, progressing to a dual doctorate degree from the University of Plymouth (UK) and the International Institute in Geneva (Switzerland).

Philavanh received a gold certificate in insurance from Allianz Academy (Germany). Awarded a Senior Associate CIP from ANZIIF (Australia). A member of the Charter Management Institute (UK). And, a member Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB).

Philavanh used to work for many local & international companies. He started working in area of insurance in 2009. Philavanh is the founder a private microfinance institute in Laos and then started working toward the area of financial services. He worked as an independent consultant for many companies and major banks for new business development. Philavanh is recently working for the Agricultural Promotion Bank (APB) as a Managing Director.
