Mr.Tanaratt Ngamvalairatt has been appointed by Board of Directors of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), a State-Owned Bank, as the new President on March 1st, 2021.
As a State-Owned Financial Institution, BAAC has played important roles on rendering financial and non-financial products and services to farmers and farmer families throughout the country. And as state-owned bank, BAAC has served as mechanism of Thai government to provide accessibility to financial institution’s sources of funds to unserved and underserved people.
Mr.Tanaratt started his career as BAAC’s Field Credit Officer at Chantaburi Province in the Eastern Region of Thailand in 1988. He has had hands on experiences of more than 33 years in agricultural and rural finance. He holds Master’s degree in Science, M.Sc. (Computer Science), Chulalongkorn University, and a certification of Digital Marketing Program and Digital Transformation Strategy for Senior Management. Prior to officiating in the position of the President of BAAC, during 2014-2017, he was Senior Vice President in IT Operation and Digital Marketing Department, after that from 2018 to 2021 he held a position of Senior Executive Vice President, the CIO, who acted as the top architect of the IT transformation of the organization, which was responsible for Digital Strategy and Information Technology Group. Being a CIO of the organization, he has initiated the use of agricultural technology and Innovations, and to facilitate higher volumes of customers’ transactions and respond to changing needs. He has incorporated these initiatives with the collaboration with strategic partners to start Banking Agent, Mobile Banking and other Digital Transformation process. The outcome of these business process reengineering and initiatives not only reduced customers’ transaction costs but also established new contact channels and sources of Fee Based Income. He has been a leader and mentor who has shared experiences, mentored his colleagues, and inspired others with regard to financial and information technology development that leverages the agribusiness, which benefits customers and organization as a whole.
